I don’t think JFK would have been welcome in today’s Democratic Party

“By calling attention to ‘a well regulated militia,’ the ‘security’ of the nation, and the right of each citizen ‘to keep and bear arms,’ our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy.  Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country.  For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important.”

By the way, the guns used in the Connecticut school shooting were already illegal. Yet, somehow - was it magic? - they were still used in a horrendous crime. Oh, and having weapons at a school is also illegal, but that didn’t stop him either. Turns out that having sorcerers proclaim “You shall not pass!” won’t actually prevent people from doing what horrible deeds they want to do. Damn it, Lord of the Rings, you lied to me again.

Google+ added a new feature last night called Communities, which are similar to Facebook Groups. In less than 24 hours I’ve already been banned from one. It was the Community for Progressives. My offense? Posting this comment on someone’s post. #WorthIt

Today is the 79th anniversary of the repeal of alcohol Prohibition. On this day I give you, not only the beautiful image above, but also this list, via the Economic Freedom blog, of items that the government still prohibits. I would probably add Buckyballs to the list.
