The Senate recently passed an amendment to the NDAA (we still don’t know if it will pass the House) to help protect Americans from being held indefinitely without a trial, at least by letter of the law.

While I’m glad it passed it wasn’t by a huge margin. You would think something like not giving the government the power to hold Americans for an infinite amount of time without a trial would be uncontroversial, but I guess not.

At any rate, this is the real reason I’m posting this: I want you to see which Senators voted which way.

Edit: As Congressman Amash notes, this amendment is pretty toothless. Which makes it all the more disheartening that so many senators still voted against it.
